Air break circuit breakers or air blast circuit breakers are a type of circuit breaker used to protect electrical equipment from damage due to an overload or short circuit. Here, the air pressure is sufficient enough to overcome the contact force, effectively separating the two contact points and leading to an open circuit. This effectively breaks the circuit and prevents further damage.

These diagrams show the various components of the circuit breaker in detail, such as its power source, the various contact points, and their positions. For example, some diagrams may also include the position of the overload relay and the mechanism by which it trips the breaker.
