LIVE: La Dispute, Touché Amoré, Death Is Not Glamorous and Living With Lions live from The Well, Leeds

As the most Northern date of their tour, tonight La Dispute and Touché Amoré play The Well in Leeds. Both bands are familiar with the venue, having both played in 2010, albeit, separately. Considering their impressive performances at Hevy prior to tonight, word has quickly spread and those who weren't present are left wondering as to just how amazing tonight is going to be. Following the support from Death Is Not Glamorous and Living With Lions, Touché Amoré leap on stage for a final sound check before introducing themselves and launching into 'Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me' opener 'Tilde'.

From the moment drummer, Elliot Babin, creates the beat of the song, the crowd release their energy. With lead singer Jeremy Bolm barely stopping for a second of speech, the band rips through songs from both 'PTSBBAM' and '...To The Beat Of A Dead Horse'. If you weren't a regular listener of Touché Amoré, it would be impossible to guess which are their most recent releases and which they have been playing for months - or even years. 'Method Act', 'Nine', 'Adieux' and well, most of their songs, seem to invite the crowd to get on stage, only to throw themselves back where they came from. The highlight of course, is Jordan Dreyer (of La Dispute) making an appearance to showcase half of the split that was released in 2010. It's obvious that there is an immeasurable force of love between the two front men as Jordan stumbles off stage, not before hugging and kissing Jeremy. If you've seen the videos from Hevy, or were a member of the festival's crowd, you'll realise that 'Honest Sleep' is the song for crowd participation. Not only does the expected seem to happen, but during the end chorus, Jeremy moves the microphone from his face to allow the crowd to take over. As they exit the stage, it's clear that La Dispute have something to follow.

It's been a while since La Dispute played the UK. Needless to say, The Well is noticeably fuller than their first visit. Jordan's unmistakable vocals work with the size of the room, the size of the crowd, and the reaction the band receive. Not only do members of the audience seem to be able to reel off the literature-like lyrics, they're so precise in their moments of chanting. Arms are forced into the air in time with stand out lines during 'Andria', `Bury Your Flame´ and 'The Castle Builders' amongst others, to create lasting impressions. Of course, Jeremy is invited to perform the remainder of the split, as everyone realises this is probably the last time they'll hear these songs live. The band choose to end on 'Damaged Goods', a perfect choice as the entire audience seems to receive a sudden burst of excitement to see them through the song. Although the guys have yet to leave their instruments, the crowd bellow to hear "one more song". A demand fulfilled with an immaculate 'Said The King To The River'.

Perhaps being greedy gets you pleasures such as this, but then again, even if the band were to ignore everyone and exit the building, they'd have still just put on one of the best shows of the year so far.
